Evelyn Yifei Cui(崔一非) is a film and television critic from Beijing, China. With a strong background in Chinese literature and comparative literature, She obtained both her BA and MA degrees from Beijing Normal University, and is currently a second-year PhD student in Chinese Studies.
Prior to pursuing her academic aspiration in UA, she worked in the industry of television as an editor and writer for several years in China. Her outstanding critic and literary writing performance has won her several awards and memberships. Driven by her passion for scholarly research, she resigned from her previous position to seek a higher degree, transitioning from a regulatory role in China’s audiovisual industry to a researcher of contemporary Chinese culture.
Evelyn's research interests primarily lie in modern Chinese Literature and popular culture, media studies and feminist studies. She also keep herself busy with writing , especially TV program reviews and travel literature as a freelance writer.
