Tengyun Zhang (She/They) is a Ph.D. student, focusing on modern Chinese religious, intellectual, and cultural history. After earning a degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Nankai University, she pursued a Master's in East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Tengyun also explores Japanese Shin Buddhism, Buddhist poetry, and 20th-century Chinese prison writing. In her leisure time, she enjoys horror movies, boxing, anime, and video games.
