Noma, Noriko
Graduate Associate

Noriko Noma is a Ph.D. student in Japanese Linguistics from Osaka, Japan. After receiving her B.A. from Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, CA, she received her M.A. in Education from Soka University in Hachioji, Tokyo, specializing in Japanese Language Education. She received her second M.A. in Japanese Linguistics from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Her main research interests are Japanese as a Second Language, Sociolinguistics, Conversation Analysis, Discourse Analysis, and Second Language Acquisition.

Currently Teaching

JPN 101 – Elementary Japanese

Beginning conversation, grammar, reading and writing in modern Japanese.

JPN 202 – Intermediate Japanese

Intermediate conversation, grammar, reading and writing in modern Japanese. Students not in a University of Arizona Japanese class the previous semester must take a placement exam.
