Iris Li (黎沅雅) is a Ph.D. student specializing in Chinese Buddhism. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry and an MA in Buddhist Studies from the University of Hong Kong. Bridging the sciences and humanities, Iris has cultivated broad academic interests, including minors in Buddhist Studies and African Studies.
Her current research examines the cultural history of Chinese Buddhism from the Song to Ming dynasties, with interests ranging from monastic economies and female patronage to the regional Buddhist networks of Guangdong. She also works with monastery gazetteers and employs historical GIS methods to remap the spatial dynamics of Buddhist communities.
