Hitomi is a passionate educator with a love for nature, science, and sharing Japanese language and culture. In her earlier years, she worked as a National Park ranger and then went on to become a high school science teacher. She taught biology and chemistry in Japan for 10+ years and 5 years in Arizona. In addition to her teaching career, she founded the Tucson Japanese Language School in 2015. She has organized and promoted many science experiment events and initiatives promoting Japanese language and culture in the local community. She holds a BA in Education from Gunma University Japan and an MA in Education from the University of Arizona.
