Vi Hawes 

My degree was in East Asian Studies with a Japanese studies focus. Going through my undergrad through EAS has fueled my love for Japan and for the rest of the world. Because of the influential teachers of the program, I pursued a career in English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. After graduation, I went and taught English in China for a year. After I came back to the States, a door opened up for me to teach ESL to immigrant adults at Pima Community College. EAS has broadened my horizons and awareness about the world and the different cultural groups.
