My training in East Asian Studies prepared me to pursue advanced graduate study in Linguistics, where I currently focus on tone in Chinese dialects. In particular, the excellent language instruction I received has allowed me to engage with Chinese-language Linguistics literature, a crucial aspect of conducting research on languages spoken in China.
