During my time at the University of Arizona, I majored in East Asian Studies and Global Studies. Naturally, I spent a semester abroad in Beijing and completed a second study abroad term in Florence. My time abroad in both China and Italy inspired me to want to help facilitate the kinds of "wow" moments that I had outside of the traditional classroom. I wanted to do this for other students as they worked to find their own unique paths both academically and personally. After receiving the Hucker Award and graduating from the University of Arizona, I went on to pursue a Master's degree. I completed my M.S. in Academic Advising from Kansas State University but quickly realized that after being so actively involved in my undergraduate study abroad experiences, I didn't want to sit at a desk all day sending kids around the world to have the experiences that I loved so much; I wanted to go with them. My background in the Humanities, my experiences studying abroad, and my academic advising degree all came together in one unexpected industry: tourism. I now utilize my experiences from my time studying abroad and my time in different cultural classes at the University of Arizona to connect with both student and adult groups as I lead them to destinations across the country. I am a teacher in action and I facilitate those "wow" moments for guests of all ages on each and every tour. I am a constant learner in this industry which means that my education in the Humanities is utilized every single day, in every single destination that I lead a tour.
