My education at the University of Arizona began with the College of Humanities. Here I learned academic research, improved my writing, and learned to work with deadlines. These skills are essential in the line of work I do today in banking operational risk.
Also, due to my foreign language studies at the Department of East Asian Studies I have received employment opportunities from Japanese firms such as banks that operate in the United States along with chances to work abroad. JPN 496 with Professor Noel Pinnington is especially memorable, and I recommend anyone seeking a challenge to take up this course. I am very thankful for my education in humanities and am glad I decided to use my Post-9/11 GI Bill military scholarship to pursue this degree.
