I learned why I was driven to explore and create knowledge for the human race.
The Department of East Asian Studies offers a wide range of courses in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language. Understanding the languages and cultures of these nations—the second (China) and third (Japan) largest economies in the world—is essential for anyone working globally today.
The Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Arizona offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Master of Arts (M.A.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. Training in East Asian Studies affords students important opportunities for careers in teaching, international business, international law, government and diplomatic service, and journalism.
Instruction is offered in a number of disciplines, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean culture, history, linguistics, literature, thought, and women’s studies, Asian humanities and religions, and Asian-American studies.
Noah is an agile achiever who combines his passions as he is gaining fluency in Japanese and studying dance as the language of movement. His long-range goal is to practice medicine.
