Undergraduate Programs

The Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Arizona offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a major in East Asian Studies, as well as minor programs. Training in East Asian Studies affords students important opportunities for careers in teaching, international business, international law, government and diplomatic service, and journalism.

Instruction is offered in a number of disciplines, including Chinese and Japanese culture, history, linguistics, literature, thought, and women’s studies, Asian humanities and religions, and Asian-American studies.

The Department also offers courses in Chinese and Japanese language.
